When looking for web Hosting, it is almost a requirement to check and see if the Hosting company has cPanel. Short for control panel, this GUI or graphical user interface, is one of the best additions to the web Hosting arena.

It makes ease of use and the learning curve for the end user quick and easy, and it is a piece of software that makes setting up and maintaining a myriad of website programs effortless and lacking in frustration. cPanel is a set of programs that makes jobs that used to need a high level of expertise well within the reach of novice users.

Things like setting up mailing lists, email, cron jobs and blogs are simplified through the pictorial interaction between the web server and the webmaster who is working to set up various aspects of their Internet presence. The cPanel interface runs on a number of RPM-based Linux platforms via ports 2082 or 2083 with authentication and login accomplished through a web page.

Logging in and utilizing the various programs are intuitive, graphic and straightforward to navigate. If you want a php bulletin board like phpBB, content management system or blog like the popular WordPress or Joomla blogs, setup is quick and effortless. Through cPanel, frustration is minimized and as a result it has become the industry standard. cPanel got even better when it added the extremely popular set of scripts called Fantastico.

It automates a myriad of tasks including creating the MySQL tables for the various programs eliminating the manual phpAdmin import of scripts written by third-party vendors for many of the softwares on the market today.

As a result, when setting up the more popular software, cPanel and Fantastico take what used to be a hard, uphill slog and streamlines it for the end user. cPanel is much more than just a graphical user interface in many respects.

It has merged a number of programs and scripts that used to be run separately. cPanel has standardized these scripts and programs across the line, making it a uniform package approach to Hosting and setup.

As a result, its popularity has steadily grown to the point where it has become second nature for most webmasters to look for Hosting companies that provide cPanel as part of the package.

In that respect, cPanel, Inc. has carved a lucrative and viable niche for itself that is not likely to leave any time soon. There are a few negatives to using cPanel. Because its so widely used, it has become prey to hackers and phishers who run scripts that command cPanel to set up unauthorized sub-domains where they can collect illegal information from unsuspecting victims. Called phishing, this technique must constantly be looked out for when running cPanel. Aside from this obvious drawback, the good points and benefits in terms of ease-of-use and the ability to set up programs quickly with little experience, far outweighs the nuisance value presented by hackers and phishers.

It simply takes vigilance to stay ahead of them but the benefits derived from using cPanel far exceeds this detraction. Is cPanel right for web Hosting? Without a doubt. It offers the end user everything necessary to be successful in setting up and maintaining a workable website and it accomplishes it with a minimum of fuss. You can’t ask for more than that.

Alojate.com is the premier web Hosting company in Mexico, offering a range or services for all business needs.

 How does Alexa ranking work?

Alexa is a subsidiary of Amazon.com that records traffic to numerous sites on the Internet by counting unique visitors to a site’s main page through an entire day. Using this data, Alexa then gives a ranking to each site. The lower the rank, the more traffic the site has.

There are a few areas to take note about Alexa rankings. Firstly, Alexa collects traffic ONLY of users who have the Alexa toolbar installed on their computers. Due to this factor, it does not represent the entire Internet population.

Personal homepages (e.g. blogs) have their traffic recorded like all other sites. But they are given an asterisk (*) to differentiate them. Only unique visits to top level domains are counted. This means that if a single user visits a site multiple times in a day, Alexa will record this as only 1 visit. All site rankings are given to a site by traffic that is collected and collated over a period of 3 months.

Why is Alexa ranking important?

Alexa ranking has a significant impact because it can give you an estimate of how well your marketing strategy is working. If your ranking goes up, this means more traffic is coming to your site. The best use of Alexa ranking has arguably got to be comparing your site’s ranking to that of 3 months ago. This will show a more or less accurate trend of your traffic increasing or decreasing. Also, Alexa ranking is important because it lets webmasters and advertisers see the potential of marketing your site. The lower your ranking, the more they would be willing to buy advertising space on your site.

How to improve Alexa ranking?

There are a few methods to increase your site’s Alexa ranking. To start off, visit Alexa.com, then download and install the toolbar. Set your site as the homepage of your browser. This way, whenever you start up your browser for the first time in a day, you will be adding one count to your site visit.

Post classified ads (either free or paid) at popular sites with huge amounts of traffic (e.g. Craigslist.org, Ablewise.com and USFreeads.com) to boost traffic to your site. This will in turn improve your Alexa ranking.

Webmasters usually have the toolbar installed in their browsers. Insert your homepage URL into your signature in webmaster forums. This will in turn get webmasters to visit your site and add visit counts to your site.

Write articles that are related to webmasters (e.g. Search Engine Optimization content), and promote them. Get Dugg or Stumbled as this will usually bring about a spike in your site traffic and in turn, get your Alexa ranking up.

Alexa ranking is a standard taken by general netizens to judge the quality of a website. Hence it is important to strive to achieve a high ranking. But do take note that Alexa ranking alone does NOT represent the entire Internet population. A site without a high Alexa ranking does not mean that site is not enjoying an expected amount of traffic, even though a high ranking does often mean high traffic.

People who have no desire to make money online are now running their own blog. There are millions of blogs which are not making any money. But blogs are being read by people because of the curiosity factor. People want to hear gossip, learn, see people live and now people want to know how they can make money blogging.

If you’re keeping a diary of your life, or you would like to, then it is possible to make money as well. If you find yourself in debt or on a low income, then you can enhance your income by using the blog you have already started to talk about subjects that are dear to you.

Imagine what it would be like if you could sell something on your blog which is related to the content of the blog. Maybe you are a mother and you have found a book on raising your children. You find that you can buy this book with PLR (Private Label Rights) and you can create your own book from here. You incorporate this ebook into your articles and when people buy the money goes directly to you.

You might decide to add AdSense to your blog and when people click on the adverts, you will receive a certain amount for each click.

Imagine what would happen if you started a number of blogs and had a number of different products to sell through your pages. You will be able to find many products in the niche you have your blog, and can sell them as an affiliate. This will give you a commission each time someone buys through your link. It is easy to do, find the product, write a review, and put in a link for the item.

Blogging has moved on a lot in the last few years, and if you want total control then you would need to host it on your own server. This will mean that there is no opportunity of it being deleted because you break a rule. When you host it yourself, you create your own rules, and this enables you to do exactly what you desire.

You can get people to write for your blog, or you can use articles from article directories. You will find articles on most topics, so whatever niche your blog is in, you will be able to find content to add to it. As you develop your blog you will find different ways to earn an income. You will find ways that work in your everyday life.

To learn exactly how I Make Money Online through blogging and many other means

One of the biggest problems I’ve seen people have when they first start a web Hosting company is that they jump into a situation they are not ready for yet. If I could give one single piece of advice on getting started in this industry it would be to take all the measures you can to keep overhead down.

The best way to do this is to avoid buying a dedicated server. Yes, they are great and there is so much you can do with them. The problem you have is that you have no customers, and targeting people for $5.00 per month can take some time to get your $100.00 or more that you would be spending on a leased dedicated server.

You should probably start at a reseller account with a reputable company. The last two words, reputable company is the key though. I made this mistake when I first got started. I wanted to get the cheapest reseller account that had the most space. About three weeks after purchasing the reseller account, I had 3 or 4 clients and all of a sudden my website along with all of my clients websites went down. I tried emailing support but received no response. I was forced to give refunds, lose all of my clients, and start from scratch again. This was a lesson learned. If you buy a reseller Hosting account, you should realize that you can only equalize the level of support and quality that your parent company offers. If they are slow to respond to your questions or take care of problems then it may delay your support and ability to get problems resolved.

Once you get yourself established, you can move clients to a virtual private server (VPS) or a dedicated server. But overall, it is extremely important to keep overhead low so that you will be able to stay in business through the growing pains of a very competitive industry.

If you would like to become an online partner with me so you can learn more about web Hosting and making your business successful, please visit our website.

These days, forum is an essential feature for every website who wants user interaction. The main reason to build forum is to discuss about the core issues related to the site topic sometimes, or general issues. But as a Webmaster’s point of view, it helps to make the visitor return to their site again and again.

Like other internet users, I chatted in forums a lot. Whenever I needed a guidance, tried to help someone or just for fun, I flattered around a forum all day long. After completing a web applications diploma, I worked on numerous sites. Editing, marketing, writing codes, research work etc was a part of my life and still now I do these things. After passing several months, I started thinking on making my own forum. So I searched on it, and what I found that the easiest way to build a forum is to install preprogrammed forum like phpbb, punbb, smf, drupal and lots of. Firstly I thought that I should write my own coding, and I will in future for sure. But un-luckily, not every webmaster is a programmer as well in a same time like me. So my advise to upcoming new webmasters that go forward to install these preprogrammed forum because it will save your a lot of time and you will keep your focus to marketing forum topic/contents. The best element of a forum is that, user itself put content in to your forum. You don’t need to worry about making hundreds of pages by yourself which should be search engine friendly of course. But the main thing you should keep in your mind that without putting your head in marketing tricks, you cannot run forum successfully. Visitor is an asset for your site, either simple site or forum based site.

My well wishes for all the upcoming webmasters. Best of Luck

If you’ve arrived here looking for a domain parking definition, i will try to be as short as possible but i will concentrate on how to make money with parking. Domain parking it’s a service that some Parking companies (sedo, name drive and others) offer where you point your domain to them, tell what is your domain about (music, sports, etc), and they automatically build a site (with little or no content) with paid ads.

When someone clicks the ads, you make money. That’s all. Sounds easy? It is! You don’t have to design a site, prepare content, no Hosting bills to pay, no nothing! This is a paradise for the lazy domainer. Now…will you make money with this?

This is a good point and the answer is easy. There are guys making big money with parking… and guys earning nothing from it.

Why? Since Parked Domains have no content, It’s not easy to drive traffic for them and you have to use some special techniques to get more traffic (fortunately they work pretty fine!). At this moment you might be asking…How do they do? How do the big domainers make money with parking? Answer it’s easy: They are even more lazy than you. They get (register) domains that get traffic from the minute zero.

They get expired domains (that still receive traffic), misspelled domains (also called typo domains) that receive big traffic and more! See? Everything it’s reduced to domain registration. This is how the big domainers make money with parking.

James is the author of “The Lazy Domainer”, a Domain Parking guide where you can learn the basics and the secrets of this technique.
