Ever build your own website? Ever feel like yanking your hair out of your head while trying to do it yourself? If you are not a computer geek or a techie person, I’m sure you share my past conclusion: Building your own website is not as easy as they (the veteran internet marketers) make it sounds.
Just recently, I started to explore the opportunities of the Internet Marketing industry. I was told many times over that I would need to have my own website, or better yet, a few of them. Prior to this I had no knowledge about Internet Marketing what so ever, other than going online and search for information, placing order for some products I found there, receiving and sending e-mails… To gain basic knowledge, I attended seminars where they sell 3 websites for about $8,000 us dollars, or $2700/each site, plus a Hosting fee for each site every month. It was a little too far stretch for me, so I start buying ebooks, signed up for mailing list trying to learn how to do it myself. These are all good source of information for a newbie like me. But at the same time it’s very confusing. I bought a website building program for $199, spent almost a month to learn how to use it, then I found that the templates offered in the package are not suitable for my site, I had to look for other templates, download, upload them, then there are some HTML code that I had to deal with. I got a headache by just looking at them. Finally I have a so so website, but my work is not yet done. In order for it to go “live”, I had to down load another piece of software called FPT to transfer all the files to the web host ( or something like that). To tell the truth, I don’t even know half of these stuff. The whole process is just plain confusing and sometimes painful. Is this you?
